Warum?, Luca Lombardi’s second string quartet will be performed on January 27, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert Schumann-Saal in Düsseldorf.
The concert features the Quartet op. 41 no. 3 by Robert Schumann in the first part and Luca Lombardi’s Warum? in the second part.
The Minguet Quartet will perform. Warum? is a musical reflection on the two faces of German history: the great culture (in this case Robert Schumann, to whom Lombardi’s Quartet contains various references) and the barbarity of chauvinism and anti-Semitism.
The work is divided into seven movements of different lengths: roBErt SCHumAnn – SHoAH – Wilder Reiter – Shir – Scherzo (SHoAH 2) – Warum? – SHAlom.
The concert, organized by the City of Düsseldorf in collaboration with the Robert Schumann-Gesellschaft and the Polish Institute, will be recorded by WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk).
